The Standard Oil Company opened the Dale Mabry Standard service station at 1001 Dale Mabry in 1950. The original photo in 1950 shows the brand-new station in the sparsely populated Dale Mabry Highway and Henderson Blvd. It maintained its designation as a service station for many years. In the mid-1970s, it had become the Dale Mabry Chevron Station. And by 1985, it was Larson’s Chevron and Towing Service. In 2007, it was Gas Kwik; in 2011, it became a Marathon gas station.

In 2017, the Marathon was demolished, and TD Bank was constructed. The bank remains on the property. Notice how the rest of the landscape has changed with so many new buildings and a widened Dale Mabry.
